PlayStation 3 Slim narrate - Should You Buy Ps3 120Gb?

The new PlayStation 3 slim model will be officially publish in September 2009 in Usa and Europe at a price of 9 which is relatively cheap as compared to the original  ps3 version. The quiz, is, should you buy the ps3 slim model, especially if you already owned the traditional ps3 model?

Out of the box, the new PlayStation slim model has almost the selfsame functions and features as the old ps3 model but is 33% smaller, 36% lighter and includes a 120Gb harddisk drive.

The Slim model has a new 45nm version of the Cell processor, which runs at the same speed as the 60nm processor in the "old" Ps3 but is smaller and more vigor efficient. Power consumption has also been reduced to 2/3 and that helps to cut down the fan noise.

The new slim model has a textured covering desist giving the system a nicer look to attract a more wider gamers. Comparable to the 80Gb and 160Gb models, the new Ps3 Slim has built-in Wi-Fi and two Usb ports but there's no backwards compatibility for Ps2 games, a disappointing news.

You can turn the physical hard drive while still having the warranty, and Sony has moved the hard drive to the front for easy access. However, you don't have the option of installing an additional one operating system like Linux because Sony has removed this feature from the slim model.

It also does not allow you to make it stand vertically unless you want to pay to buy a stand and will have an upgraded firmware version 3.

John Koller, director of hardware marketing for Sony Computer Entertainment America, says they've been able to run down account of older models, but he didn't have the best respond as to why person would buy an old 80Gb model over the new 120Gb Slim.

"Some population want a unit right away and they may like the look of the old unit," he said. "People will have their reasons for wanting one."

A Guide To choosing The Best Desktop Computer theory

This description will run straight through each of these factors to help you avoid the many pitfalls that one may stumble over when purchasing a Pc.

Some sample desktop computer systems

Intended Usage

What do you intend to use the computer for? This is one of the key considerations when purchasing that desktop system. The main goal here is to get a ideas that will suit your computing needs. If you're using the computer for pro or enterprise purposes, you'll want to factor stability and assistance hold into your buy decision. On the other hand, if you intend to use the ideas at home, you may want a more well-rounded Pc that can handle multimedia applications, web surfing easily.

Budget

You'll no ifs ands or buts need to consider your funds buying that Pc. Low-end funds systems will save you a lot of money and are suitable for most home users. High-end systems with the most recent Athlon 64 or Intel Pentium 4 processors will cost more and will be more suitable for those who want to play the most recent 3D games or do heavy video or graphics editing.

System Features

Ok, here's where it gets complicated. A typical desktop Pc has got so many components, it's hard to conclude which ideas is good or bad. We're talking about a whole plethora of components from memory, video cards, sound cards, visual drives and so on.

Here's a stab at the most indispensable components in the Pc and what you should look out for:

Cpus

The Cpu is the brain of your ideas - so it's a key observation when buying that Pc. The older chips like Intel Celeron and Intel Pentium 3 chips are now starting to come to be obsolete. If you want your ideas to last for some time, go for newer processors like the Intel Pentium 4 and Amd Athlon 64.

Memory

System memory is also very foremost - you can never have enough of it. Typically, look for at least 512 Mb of memory in the desktop you want to buy. Anything less while pose a question for enterprise or graphics applications.

Motherboards

If you're buying the ideas off the shelf from vendors like Hp, Dell or eMachines, the motherboard brand will regularly not be an issue. In fact, most Pc manufacturers don't release the type of motherboard used in their desktops. The motherboard brand is of greater importance if you are construction your own Pc.

Hard Drives

My advice to you here is - get as much hard disk space as you can afford. A typical hard disk by today's standards would be about 80 Gb at least. If you do a lot of downloading off the Internet, or edit videos or have a huge range of Mp3s, you'd be best off with at least a 160 Gb hard disk.

Optical Drives

A Cd-Rom drive is now a thorough highlight in all computers. Make sure you're getting at least a 40X Cd-Rom read speed. An further observation these days would be either you want read-write potential - many computers now come with Cd-Rw drives. Dvd-Rom drives are also being bundled in desktops. Even better, some come with Dvd-Rw drives which will save you the cost of buying a separate Dvd writer later on.

Monitors

I guess the key observation here is either you want a Crt or Lcd display. My view is to go for at least a 17 inch monitor if you want a Crt display, and at least a 15 inch monitor for Lcd displays. Good brand names here are: Nec, Samsung and ViewSonic.

Graphics

Computer systems come with either integrated video on the motherboard, or a corporeal video card. If you play a lot of games, especially 3D games like Half-Life 2, you will not want to rely on integrated video. Make sure the ideas has a corporeal video card with at least Agp 8X and 256 Mb of video memory.

Sound

Again, it is tasteless for computers to come with integrated sound on the motherboard these days. However, if you're a computer audio buff, go for a separate third-party sound card like the Creative Audigy Sound Card.

Ports

Usb ports are approximately thorough features in desktop computer systems today. In fact, you'll want to check that the ideas comes with hold for the most recent Usb 2.0 specification. Even best if it comes with FireWire ports (which are indispensable for video capture and editing).

Operating System
Operating System
The majority of computer systems these days ship with Windows Xp Home Edition, which is suitable for home users. enterprise users should look for Windows Xp pro or Windows 2000 pro to be bundled in the package.

Technical Support

After-sale hold and warranty periods are a prime observation especially you have no contact in troubleshooting computers. Most basic warranty periods last for a year or two and are enough for the mean user. Don't go for an extended warranty period without reading the fine print. Most of the time, it's not indispensable to have overly long warranty periods as the reasonable lifetime of your computer will be about 4 to 5 years at most.

Recommended Desktop Computers

Now let's take a look at some of the desktop computer systems I'd recommend to a prospective buyer. Take note that the systems below do not include a computer monitor.

Emachines W3052

This is one hot desktop. Running on a Amd Sempron 2 Ghz processor, with 512 Mb of Ram and a 120 Gb hard disk, the eMachines W3052 is a top seller. Also comes with a media card reader, Lan support, a Dvd+/- Rw drive and a pre-installed copy of Windows Xp Home Edition. no ifs ands or buts incredible value at an affordable price.

The eMachines W3052 desktop computer

Gateway 552Ge

Another great value for money system. The Gateway 552Ge comes with an Intel Pentium 4 3.2 Ghz Dvd+/- Rw drive, in-built audio / video and Lan support, as well as Windows Xp Home Edition to round off the package.

The Gateway 552Ge desktop computer

Hewlett Packard Pavilion a1130n

The Hewlett Packard Pavilion a1130n is a spectacular motor and assuredly my option, if I had enough cash :( It comes with a Amd Athlon 64 2.2 Ghz Cpu, 1 immense Gb Ram and a 250 Gb hard drive. It includes a Dvd+/- Rw drive, in-built audio / video, Firewire support, as well as a Lan adapter. A no ifs ands or buts superior machine.

Buying a Computer For Your Small enterprise - choosing the Right law

If your seeing for a good computer ideas for your small firm your first consideration will probably performance as well as price. With today's technology, however, the performance levels of today's computers are suitable for most firm applications and I'm not talking about the latest, greatest, state-of-the-art machines either. You can assume that a desktop Pc in the 0-00 range will be able to deal with any firm software that you will be using. Whether it's bookkeeping or accounts receivable software, such as Quicken, your small firm desktop should not be a major expense.

A Typical Small firm Computer System:

Here's an example of a good ideas that won't break the bank - it sells for less than 0.00.

Intel E5300 Dual Core 2.6 Ghz Cpu (Intel brand dual core (two microprocessors) with a very good speed of 2.6 Ghz)
Windows 7 Home premium 64 software (the newest version of Microsoft Windows)
Intel Dg41 motherboard (not that prominent unless you want a different motherboard)

One benefit to shopping on line is the whole of facts that is available to the buyer. Here's an example of a spec sheet (the actual specs list is much longer but I have kept it shorter for the sake of article space): A spec sheet is roughly always found in an internet ad.

Key Features:

The Slim Dvd±Rw Dual Layer optical drive provides fast downloading and uploading to your company's server via the 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit Ethernet port.

Used (refurbished) vs. New

There are many places where you can buy refurbished (including off-lease) desktop computers today. It is the belief of this author, however, that you should make this consideration only if a incorporate hundred dollars is that prominent to your budget. With technology being as cheap as it is today, why take the chance? also that new systems ordinarily come with a 12 month parts and labor warranty. What you buy used today may not be working so well in a few months.

Best Computer Deals

There are abundance of computer superstores and office contribute shop that sell computer systems and you might find some pretty good prices as well. However, do not overlook purchasing a computer online. Many times you'll find better prices and offers that consist of free shipping as well which makes the purchase more animated and the choice is very often astonishing. Remember, it doesn't take up any floor space to put up a website.

All in all, you should be able to find the best desktop with the performance level you are seeing for, and, with the price you are willing to pay. Do not be afraid to shop on line. It may be one of your best options for seeing the best computer prices on the market.

Other Considerations When Buying A Small firm System

Expansion capabilities for the future may be very prominent to you. There may come a time when you want more memory or a bigger hard drive. Perhaps your ideas has started to run a puny slower and you want to speed it up. Anything problems you may encounter down the road they might be alleviated by hooking up an external device or adding a card to an internal expansion slot. Here are a few things to remember when manufacture a new computer purchase.

Usb Ports

Usb ports are prominent components that allow you to associate printers, flash drives, digital camera, Mp3 players, mice and keyboards, ordinarily a Cpu will come with four Usb ports but there are some that have eight or more. If you anticipate connecting a lot of external devices make sure to check how many ports come with the system

Optical Cd and Dvd Drives

A Cd and Dvd if possible. Also desirable would be a Cd-Rw (re-writable) format and Dvd-Rw format if affordable in your budget. A recordable Dvd drive can store up to 4.7Gb of data which makes it a good device to have if you are using graphics or muisic arduous data.

Some drives can also article data, images, music or video to Cds and/or Dvds. de facto you want both.

Pci Slots

Your ideas should have two free Pci slots for future expansion possibilities, Pci slots will enable you to use other hardware features like audio cards or network adapters.

Agp Slot

Your graphics card uses a high-speed expansion slot to display 3D images. (Agp means Accelerated Graphics Port). What's good about having an Agp slot is that the graphics card will have it's own Ram that is uses with the Cpu so your ideas will not slow down. Having this slot will be beneficial if you want high power graphics in the future.

Modem

Essential for connecting to the internet. An internal 56Kbps V.90 modem is appropriate fare on nearly every new Pc nowadays

Hard Drives

Today the typical computer will come with a hard drive that has at least 40 Gb of storage. Our recommendation, though, would be in the area of at least 100Gb to 160Gb for small firm applications. A coarse drive speed is 5400 rpm but a 7200 rpm Ultra-Ata/100 drive will achieve much better. The Ultra-Ata is what connects the drive to the Pc.

Hopefully breaking down the hardware elements as I have in this article will make your small firm computer purchase a puny easier. Thanks for reading and if you enjoyed the article please leave a comment.
