PlayStation 3 Slim narrate - Should You Buy Ps3 120Gb?

The new PlayStation 3 slim model will be officially publish in September 2009 in Usa and Europe at a price of 9 which is relatively cheap as compared to the original  ps3 version. The quiz, is, should you buy the ps3 slim model, especially if you already owned the traditional ps3 model?

Out of the box, the new PlayStation slim model has almost the selfsame functions and features as the old ps3 model but is 33% smaller, 36% lighter and includes a 120Gb harddisk drive.

The Slim model has a new 45nm version of the Cell processor, which runs at the same speed as the 60nm processor in the "old" Ps3 but is smaller and more vigor efficient. Power consumption has also been reduced to 2/3 and that helps to cut down the fan noise.

The new slim model has a textured covering desist giving the system a nicer look to attract a more wider gamers. Comparable to the 80Gb and 160Gb models, the new Ps3 Slim has built-in Wi-Fi and two Usb ports but there's no backwards compatibility for Ps2 games, a disappointing news.

You can turn the physical hard drive while still having the warranty, and Sony has moved the hard drive to the front for easy access. However, you don't have the option of installing an additional one operating system like Linux because Sony has removed this feature from the slim model.

It also does not allow you to make it stand vertically unless you want to pay to buy a stand and will have an upgraded firmware version 3.

John Koller, director of hardware marketing for Sony Computer Entertainment America, says they've been able to run down account of older models, but he didn't have the best respond as to why person would buy an old 80Gb model over the new 120Gb Slim.

"Some population want a unit right away and they may like the look of the old unit," he said. "People will have their reasons for wanting one."
